Inspection of Your Shower

The images below demonstrate the removal of floor tiles, revealing black mold from water seepage, and missing grout indicating water penetration, which was replaced to prevent further damage1

This is a picture of cracking grout in a shower that was repaired. Water was getting underneath the floor tile making it loose. The tile was removed and replaced.

During the shower inspection, it was discovered that cracking and missing grout were identified as issues. Water seeped into these cracks, penetrating beneath the tile on the benchtop and shower floor. The water erosion affected the thinset, evident from the hollow sound of the floor tile

Re-Nu Implemented a Five-Step Cleaning Procedure


The cleaning process commences with the application of a gentle acid-based cleaner to eliminate minerals from the shower surface. Next, an alkaline solution is used to eradicate soap scum, body oils, and other oily residues. The subsequent step involves the application of a color-restorative sealer to the grout lines, ensuring a consistent color appearance, preventing fading and dark stains, and rejuvenating the grout to look new. This epoxy/acrylic sealer also provides waterproofing for the grout. Following this, any missing grout is repaired, and edges are recaulked with a siliconized grout that matches the grout color. Finally, the tiles are polished to achieve a shiny finish

In this picture you can see we replaced the tile on the shower bench top with a solid piece of granite sloped for water to fall of the top. Shower floor tile was replaced as well.
